Each hatchet we make is crafted from 5160 spring steel or 1045 tool steel for a balance in durability, ductility and edge maintenance. They are hand forged the ol’ fashioned way with a forge, hammer and anvil. Each is slightly different due to being hand made, so rest assured you have a unique piece. Our handles are made from high quality Hickory or Ash with proper grain alignment and finished with mineral oil to increase longevity of the handle without splitting.
